Show Us Your Hunting Camp Contest II

Hunting camps are as much a part of the Northwest hunting experience as frozen toes and pretty sunrises. Some Northwest elk and deer camps are as elaborate as small cities, some are as spartan as a backpack and a sleeping back under a tarp.

Whatever yours looks like, we want to see your version of Hunting Camp 2011, so send your pics to awalgamott@media-inc.com.

"We had to change locations of our elk hunting area last year due to a change in access policy by Weyerhaeuser and Rayonier," emails David Schuurman. "The four of us relocated to some state land, camping at the top of a hill to catch some cooling breezes during the heat of early September. We called this our 9-11 Elk Camp as we recognized the ten-year anniversary on the morning of 09-11-11. Being in a new area we didn’t harvest any elk during that hunt, but we did bag a nice bear and experienced a great camp."

"Midday heat, glassing from the hilltop, hoping to see something to go after," says Schuurman
